Sale Items That Won't Break the Bank

Jun 3, 2018

I was sitting on my computer  with a big cup of coffee and thought- man I really need to make a sale post. I feel like there's SO many good sales out right now! My favorite items are at Nordstrom Rack because they are all clothes you can wear this season! Usually you have to go through Winter clothing sales, and although that's awesome we all want to immediately wear what we bought. Am I wrong? With that, Nordstrom Rack never disappoints.

Hope everyone is doing well- I've been super busy with wedding planning but I haven't forgotten about you! I should be posting a lot more soon now that I'm almost done! How are you planning on spending your summer? Let me know if you'd like me to do some wedding posts!

Lounge-wear for Cold Winter Nights

Dec 31, 2017

So....

It's 9 degrees where I am! Fashion blogging is definitely no match for this weather. There were days I'd stand outside in a skirt and pose but it's not worth it. My profile pic over there? >>> That was taken on a day it snowed. I remember I couldn't feel half my body after posing. I'd rather wait till it thaws out there and suggest the same for other fashion bloggers!

This winter I've been very dedicated in finding warm clothes to wear after work, or just for lounging around in. To my surprise, my regular winter essentials weren't doing it. Then again our winter's aren't normally 9 degrees. I've bought some lounge-wear, put it to the test... and found that sherpa and fleece lined items are doing the trick. In truth, the REAL title of this post should be "Lounge Essentials for when you're like OH **** I can't feel my face!".

If you hate the cold like me I suggest checking out my warm approved list below. A lot of items are on After Christmas Sales so you can get some really great deals too!! Plus that turtleneck below is too cute!

Stay warm my friends :) And Happy New Year!!

Best Vest: A Fun, Quirky Outfit

Oct 9, 2017

Ever have those days you look at your closet and pull an outfit together that you normally wouldn't? That was this look, and I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. I feel like some of the best outfits are ones you don't put much thought into!

**Savings alert**- I got this vest a few weeks ago on the clearance rack at TJMaxx for $8! If you happen to be near a TJMaxx I highly recommend constantly checking their sale racks. Sometimes you get a great deal! Finding an affordable dupe of this vest was a bit more difficult than I thought it would, most range around 50-150 dollars!

SHOP THE LOOK:

This outfit was fun, a little quirky and super comfortable! It's got a casino party kind of look to it but I was able to use a lot of items I already had in my closet! The secret is mainly the vest as well as the top from Express. The choker look ups the ante on the outfit, and the vest creates a sexy layering effect. Not to mention that these items are great for a capsule wardrobe, being black and white they go with a lot! Try to mix and match some of your black and white items in your closet...and if you try to remake this look  pleeease tag me in Instagram-I'd love to see it!!

Travel Essentials- Orlando, Florida

Jun 19, 2017

The last time I went to Orlando it was close to 100 degrees, and I thought I was going to pass out. One of my family members came down with heat stroke, and it put a real dent in our trip. When I heard we were going again this year, I knew I needed to be prepared. After doing some research, I bought some stuff for me and my family and hoped for the best.

Everything went great, there was no cases of heat stroke, and I was by far the most comfortable I've ever been at Orlando. So...to take the mystery out of what you need for your trip, here are my top travel essentials.

1)  Dri-Fit Nike Hats
In hot temperatures it's important to keep your head covered. It not only reduces the chance of sunburn, but can prevent wrinkles and stop the sun from bleaching colored hair. Regular hats get sweaty rather quickly, so reach for one with DriFit technology. I personally love the ones by Nike. They are made for running outdoors, so they are light, perforated, and moisture wicking. They also have great color options!

2) Cooling Towels
If you only choose one of these items, let this be the one. Cooling towels are known to stay cold for hours. Simply wet it before wear, snap it a few times to get rid of excess water, and wear it like a scarf around your neck. This was the lifesaver of my trip and I highly recommend it.

3) UV Sunglasses
A lot of the cheaper sunglasses out there aren't treated with UV Protection. When sunglasses aren't treated, UV rays are going directly to your eyes. This can lead to future cataracts and macular degeneration, not to mention wrinkles. Buy sunglasses with 99-100% UV protection and save those eyes!

4) Bralettes
There's nothing like dreaded bra sweat on a hot day. Bralettes are breathable with the comfort of a sports bra, with a variety of great styles available. Layer them with tanks for a quick and easy outfit!

5) Insulated Water Bottles
When you buy water at the parks, you're usually holding it, so it gets warm very quickly. Bring along an insulated water bottle to keep your water cold for longer. I personally love the ones by S'well!

6) Moisture Wicking Tanks
If you sweat easily in warm temps, it's smart to take some workout tanks with you. Just like the Dri-Fit hats, they are breathable and made with moisture wicking technology, allowing you to feel more comfortable while walking around the parks!

7) A Crossbody Bag

Crossbody bags are harder for pickpockets to access and/or grab off of you. For safety purposes they should always be considered on trips. No matter how safe you feel!

8) Comfortable Sandals
Wearing sneakers to the parks is a no-brainer. But if you prefer wearing sandals consider an option like the Sanuk Yoga Slings. I bought these just for my trip to Disney and they were sooo comfortable.

9) Sneakers
Like I said above, bringing sneakers to the park is a no-brainer. I'd say about 75% of the people in the parks wear sneakers. If you want to be on trend, bring some simple Sperry's or a Colorful Pair of Nike's along with you. But honestly, no one cares what sneakers you wear there. Feel free to wear whatever keeps you comfy!!
